Cluny

It was another night of torrential rain last night but there was no chance of getting swept away from our perch on top of the hill.

Geoffrey is still alive.....he is just so incredibly slow and lethargic, but still eating, drinking and purring like a kitten!

We took a pic of him this morning as we were driving along as we are sure he can't last much longer ...

And drive we did, heading west in search of sun and warmth again.  The driving conditions were horrendous,  it slips and slides all over the place in the wet. I think I will reduce the tyre pressures on the front and see how we go ...

As per usual we stayed off the toll roads, you can see the toll road going over the top of our scenic slow road ...

And some of the scenes are just breathtaking ...

We had to move right over for this widebeam!

Coming in to Macon ...

By mid afternoon we were looking for a mooring; Elaine found an aire on the Autoroute so we headed for George Cluny.

We got a nice spot outside the Abbey wall, there are spaces for ten motorhomes but there were only two taken.

This is the view across the road ...

We were just two mins from the centre, so we went walkabout.

Once again we hit the jackpot, what a magical place, or is all of France just so enchanting?

The usual lovely streets, not a charity shop to be seen!

The  Abbey ...

Lovely old wobbly building ...

The boys having a pose by the town fountain ...

More of the abbey ...

Arty shot ...

All in all a cracker of a place!

I can't get TV reception here so it will be a quick walk into town to watch tonight's game.
Hopefully there won't be any squawking clogger women!
