Best Mooring To Date

First stop of the day was Portree where we sorted out our return trip to the mainland from the Outer Hebrides or The Western Isles as they seem to be known as these days.

A nice little town, there was a market going on so Elaine indulged herself ...

Whilst Elaine was making the stall holders happy I took the dogs for a walk.  Sammie suddenly started limping and was in pain, he couldn't walk any more so I went back and grabbed Elaine and we headed back to the van to check him out.  Out came the tweezers and magnifying glass and out came a bloody big bee sting! Elaine dosed him up with some anti-histamine and Rescue Remedy and he is now good again.

Whilst sitting in the van sorting out the van we noticed a Lady outside who was going through some sort of breakdown.  She was sitting on a bench crying and rocking herself.  Elaine (and Bombo) went out to check her out and ended up staying and chatting to her for over an hour before her husband turned up, the police also made an appearance.  The poor lady had lots of issues in her life and had no-one to talk to.  Elaine gave her lots of cuddles, reassurance and a rose quartz crystal!   She sent Elaine a couple of text messages later when she was home.  Elaine will definitely go to heaven, not so sure about myself, as long as there is a good pub there I will be happy with either.

We then headed off around the Isle in an anti-clockwise direction.

We stopped at lots of lookouts on the way, then went for a walk to check them out ...

A large cruise ship was heading up The Sound of Raasay ...

It was a pretty cloudy day with the occasional bit of sunshine, no rain though so that was good ...

Ruins on the beach of an old Diatomite factory ...

No prom walks so we now have lookout poses! Sammie was still in the van with a sore paw.

Isolated phone box ...

OK, another rather nice view ...

This looks a nice spot ...

So we moored up for the night, what a spot, in middle of nowhere ...

The view from the bedroom window, the hills in the background are the Outer Hebrides ...

We even have a internet signal here (actually, this is the only place we have found one all day!) ... they are quite hard to find in these parts!
